Warning Signs

When Plano Homes Need a New Roof

Plano sits in a hail alley zone. Storms in 2019, 2021, and April 2024 left big dents on Collin County roofs. If your shingles are curling, it's time to call. Granules piling up in gutters also mean you need help. Light coming through the attic deck is another sign. Older homes in Old Town Plano have original decking from the 1960s and 70s. Homes off 15th Street do too. These roofs need a full tear-off. Summer heat over 100 degrees breaks down asphalt shingles fast here. A roofer, as shown by the trade's long history and scope of work [1], does much more than shingles. We also check flashing around chimneys, since Plano's clay soil shifts and cracks seams over time. Don't wait for a leak to show up inside your ceiling before you call us.

Common Jobs

Hail Damage Reroofs

After spring hailstorms, we replace roofs with dented or cracked shingles across Collin County.

Old Town Full Tear-Offs

Homes from the 1960s and 70s often need the whole deck replaced. Years of Texas heat and storms wear down the plywood underneath. Old nails and soft spots show up once we pull the shingles back. Fixing the deck now stops bigger leaks and sagging later.

HOA-Approved Reroofs

In Willow Bend and Canyon Creek, we handle the color and material approval papers for you.

Insurance Claim Reroofs

We work with State Farm, Allstate, and Farmers adjusters. We use Xactimate estimates homeowners can trust.

Impact-Resistant Upgrades

We put in Class 4 shingles that many insurers now want in far West Plano homes.

Cool Roof Installs

Reflective shingles cut summer cooling bills during Oncor's busy months. Plano roofs bake under hot summer sun for weeks. A reflective shingle keeps your attic cooler. That means your AC works less and your bills stay lower.

Our Process

How New Roof Installation Works

We keep things simple from your first call to the final check. We walk you through every step before work starts. You always know what's happening on your roof and why. Clear talk keeps surprises off your bill and off your mind.

1

Inspection and Quote

We walk your roof, check the decking, and look for hail or storm damage. You get a clear, written quote the same visit. No pressure, just facts.

2

Permits and Approvals

We pull your City of Plano building permit. We send HOA forms if needed. This step often adds a week or two in HOA areas like Willow Bend.

3

Installation and Inspection

Our crew tears off old material, checks the deck, and puts on your new roof. Plano Building Inspections signs off before we call the job done.

Fair Pricing

New Roof Installation Cost in Plano

Price depends on your roof size, slope, and material choice. A steep roof in West Plano near Legacy costs more to fix than a flat ranch home. Material matters too. Class 4 impact shingles cost more upfront but can lower your insurance bill. We give upfront quotes with no hidden fees. Most estimates are free.

✓ Upfront pricing before any work starts
✓ Your okay needed before we start
✓ No surprise add-ons once work begins

Roof size and slope change how long work takes

Mighty fine work! It was still raining when the technician showed up. I tried to talk him out of starting the work. He did not listen to me.
The work was great!
I met the owner who pointed out some repair that he would fix for a price OR I could agree to a yearly reoccurring visit. I was already thinking I needed that yearly visit so it was a win-win.
Me and my 11 oak trees highly recommended this company!

We haven't cleaned our gutters in years and they took all trash, cleanup with them so we didn't have to worry about it. We look forward to using them again soon.

I am going to save you time and money by telling you that prior to hiring GSOT, I had extensively researched and spoken with MULTIPLE companies to fix my chimney facades in my 5-bedroom home. The worst one was Philips Home Improvement (I've reviewed them on Google, Yelp, and also reported them to the Better Business Bureau).
On the contrary, I am so impressed with GSOT. Their prices were very reasonable. My chimney facades look top-notch and are guaranteed to last as long as the house. Their employees took the time to do an exceptional quality job, and most importantly, do it the right way! Their workers are amazing employees! They are very skilled, qualified, insured, and legally able to work. As a legal immigrant, this was very important to me. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I sincerely highly recommend them. If you want the job done right without shortcuts, at a good price, don't waste more time and go with GSOT!
Sincerely,
- a very satisfied customer

There are a host of gutter companies in Dallas, many with outstanding reviews. Gutter Solutions of Texas is one of them, It’s the one I chose to use to install new gutters replacing old ones with problems. Zach came by to evaluate. I thought I knew where all the issues were, but he spotted several I hadn’t noticed. And he made some creative suggestions for redo I hadn’t thought of. Their work was as timely and excellent as his planning. They are a first class outfit if that’s what you’re looking for! Loved their work.

Questions

New Roof Installation Questions

Here are answers to what Plano homeowners ask us most. We hear the same questions on almost every job. These answers come from years of local roofing work. If your question isn't here, just give us a call.

  • How much does a new roof cost in Plano?

Most jobs run between $8,000 and $25,000. It depends on size and material. Steep roofs and full deck tear-offs cost more. We give a free, written quote before any work starts.

  • How long does install take?

Most homes take two to four days. It depends on size and weather. Tear-offs on older Old Town homes can take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline at your quote.

  • Can I install a roof myself?

We don't think it's a good idea. Roofing needs permits, checks, and has safety risks. A bad install can void your insurance claim too.

  • How often do roofs get replaced in Plano?

Asphalt shingles usually last 15 to 20 years here. They last less with our strong sun. Homes hit by hail often need a new roof sooner. We check your roof's shape honestly before we suggest a full install.

  • How fast should I act after storm damage?

Call us soon. Small cracks from hail let water in during the next rain. Waiting can turn a small fix into a full deck job.

  • What signs mean I need a new roof?

Look for curling shingles, granules in your gutters, or daylight in the attic. Sagging spots are a serious warning sign. We check all of this during a free inspection.

  • Do you handle HOA approval for my neighborhood?

Yes, we send color and material forms for HOA areas like Willow Bend and Canyon Creek. This usually adds one to two weeks to the timeline. We handle the paperwork so you don't have to chase it down.
