Warning Signs

When You Need Roof Repair in Plano

Plano sits in a hail alley. Our crews have patched many roofs after storms hit Collin County. Baseball-size hail hit West Plano in April 2024. Many homes still show bruised shingles from it. Summer heat past 100 degrees bakes shingles until they crack. Winter ice storms, like the one in February 2021, loosen flashing and let water in. If your ceiling has missing granules, soft spots, or a stain, don't wait. Small leaks turn into rotted wood fast. This happens a lot in older Old Town Plano homes. We also check flashing around chimneys every time. Clay soil movement often cracks those seams. One thing most people don't realize: a tiny crack today means a big bill next year.[1]

Common Jobs

Hail Damage Repair

Cracked or bruised shingles from spring hail need a close look. We check the whole roof, not just one side.

Flashing Repair

Shifting clay soil puts stress on flashing near chimneys and vents. We reseal and swap it out before leaks start.

Shingle Replacement

Sun exposure dries out shingles over time. We swap out cracked and curled spots to match your roof.

Leak Detection

A ceiling stain usually means water got in somewhere. We trace the source before it spreads.

Decking Repair

Older homes near 15th Street often have worn wood under the shingles. We replace bad spots and reseal the roof.

Insurance Claim Support

We write down hail and storm damage clearly for your adjuster. This helps your claim move faster.

Fair Pricing

Roof Repair Cost in Plano

Repair cost depends on how much damage there is and what materials your roof has. A Willow Bend home with tile costs more to fix than a standard shingle roof in Deerfield. Storm damage claims through State Farm or Allstate can cover much of the cost if hail hit your area. We give you a free quote so you know the price before we start. Our advice: ask your adjuster about full storm coverage first.[1]

Mighty fine work! It was still raining when the technician showed up. I tried to talk him out of starting the work. He did not listen to me.
The work was great!
I met the owner who pointed out some repair that he would fix for a price OR I could agree to a yearly reoccurring visit. I was already thinking I needed that yearly visit so it was a win-win.
Me and my 11 oak trees highly recommended this company!

I am going to save you time and money by telling you that prior to hiring GSOT, I had extensively researched and spoken with MULTIPLE companies to fix my chimney facades in my 5-bedroom home. The worst one was Philips Home Improvement (I've reviewed them on Google, Yelp, and also reported them to the Better Business Bureau).
On the contrary, I am so impressed with GSOT. Their prices were very reasonable. My chimney facades look top-notch and are guaranteed to last as long as the house. Their employees took the time to do an exceptional quality job, and most importantly, do it the right way! Their workers are amazing employees! They are very skilled, qualified, insured, and legally able to work. As a legal immigrant, this was very important to me. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I sincerely highly recommend them. If you want the job done right without shortcuts, at a good price, don't waste more time and go with GSOT!
Sincerely,
- a very satisfied customer

There are a host of gutter companies in Dallas, many with outstanding reviews. Gutter Solutions of Texas is one of them, It’s the one I chose to use to install new gutters replacing old ones with problems. Zach came by to evaluate. I thought I knew where all the issues were, but he spotted several I hadn’t noticed. And he made some creative suggestions for redo I hadn’t thought of. Their work was as timely and excellent as his planning. They are a first class outfit if that’s what you’re looking for! Loved their work.

Common Questions

Roof Repair Questions

Here are answers to what Plano homeowners ask us most.

  • How much does roof repair cost in Plano?

Most repairs cost between $300 and $2,500. It depends on how bad the damage is. We give a free quote first. Insurance often covers storm damage. We'll walk you through what your plan might cover. Our advice: always get a second quote if a price feels off.

  • How long does a roof repair take?

Most repairs finish in one day. Bigger jobs with wood replacement can take two or three days. We'll give you a clear timeline after we look at it. Weather can push the schedule back a bit. We'd rather be slow and careful than fast and sloppy.

  • Can I fix my own roof?

We don't think that's a good idea. Roof work is risky. A missed spot can lead to bigger leaks later. Plano also needs a permit for bigger repairs. A pro catches things you might miss from the ground. We've seen DIY fixes turn small leaks into big ones.

  • What's the difference between repair and replacement?

Repair fixes one damaged spot. Replacement redoes the whole roof. We suggest replacement if more than 25% of the wood underneath is bad. That matches Plano's local code. We check this during our visit. Most hail damage just needs a repair. Our honest take: we won't sell you a full replacement if you don't need one.

  • How fast should I call after a storm?

Call us right away, especially after hail or strong wind. Small leaks turn into rotted wood within weeks in Plano's heat. Waiting can also hurt your insurance claim. We can write down the damage for your adjuster fast. In our experience, fast calls mean easier claims.

  • What signs mean I need roof repair?

Look for missing granules, curled shingles, or a ceiling stain. Cracked flashing near chimneys is another sign. If hail hit your area lately, get a quick check. We offer visits to catch problems early. Most homeowners miss these signs until it's too late.

  • Do you handle HOA approval for repairs?

Yes, we handle the paperwork for places like Willow Bend and Canyon Creek. HOA approval can add a week or two to the wait. We send the forms early so it doesn't slow things down. We know the local HOA rules well. This saves you a lot of back-and-forth.
