When To Call

Signs It's Time For a Kitchen Remodel

Old cabinets, cracked tile, and tight layouts slow down your whole day. We hear this a lot from folks in Deerfield and Shadow Creek with 1980s kitchens. Old wiring and pipes behind the walls often cause big problems. A full renovation fixes the real problem, not just the surface.[1] Waiting just means living with the same problems longer. Your kitchen won't fit how you cook or hang out with family. Older homes near Old Town Plano often need new wiring before new appliances go in. Last year we helped a family in Shadow Creek who put off this step. It cost them more once we opened the walls.

Common Projects

Outdated Cabinets

Worn or warped cabinets waste space and look tired. We replace or reface them to fit how you really use the room.

Cracked Countertops

Chips and stains build up over years of use. We put in new countertops that handle daily cooking.

Poor Layout Flow

Tight walkways and odd corners make cooking harder than it should be. We open up the space where it makes sense.

Old Plumbing Fixtures

Leaky sinks and rusty pipes often hide behind old cabinets. We handle plumbing updates as part of the remodel.

Not Enough Lighting

Dim kitchens make cooking and cleanup hard. We add lights and under-cabinet fixtures that actually help.

Full Gut Renovation

Some kitchens need to start over down to the studs. We handle demo, framing, and finish work from start to end.

Mighty fine work! It was still raining when the technician showed up. I tried to talk him out of starting the work. He did not listen to me.
The work was great!
I met the owner who pointed out some repair that he would fix for a price OR I could agree to a yearly reoccurring visit. I was already thinking I needed that yearly visit so it was a win-win.
Me and my 11 oak trees highly recommended this company!

Lisa was the office manager who scheduled our cleaning. She provided quote without wasting time of estimate, etc. they provided competitive pricing and did the job extremely well. We haven't cleaned our gutters in years and they took all trash, cleanup with them so we didn't have to worry about it. We look forward to using them again soon.

I am going to save you time and money by telling you that prior to hiring GSOT, I had extensively researched and spoken with MULTIPLE companies to fix my chimney facades in my 5-bedroom home. The worst one was Philips Home Improvement (I've reviewed them on Google, Yelp, and also reported them to the Better Business Bureau).
On the contrary, I am so impressed with GSOT. Their prices were very reasonable. My chimney facades look top-notch and are guaranteed to last as long as the house. Their employees took the time to do an exceptional quality job, and most importantly, do it the right way! Their workers are amazing employees! They are very skilled, qualified, insured, and legally able to work. As a legal immigrant, this was very important to me. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I sincerely highly recommend them. If you want the job done right without shortcuts, at a good price, don't waste more time and go with GSOT!
Sincerely,
- a very satisfied customer

There are a host of gutter companies in Dallas, many with outstanding reviews. Gutter Solutions of Texas is one of them, It’s the one I chose to use to install new gutters replacing old ones with problems. Zach came by to evaluate. I thought I knew where all the issues were, but he spotted several I hadn’t noticed. And he made some creative suggestions for redo I hadn’t thought of. Their work was as timely and excellent as his planning. They are a first class outfit if that’s what you’re looking for! Loved their work.

Questions

Kitchen Remodeling Questions

Here are answers to what Plano homeowners ask us most.

  • How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Plano?

Most jobs run between $12,000 and $60,000 or more. Cost depends on cabinets, countertops, and if plumbing or wiring needs work. We give you a written quote before we start. That way you know the price upfront, no surprises later.

  • How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Smaller updates take two to three weeks. A full gut job can take six to ten weeks. It depends on permits and materials. We give you a clear timeline before work starts, so you can plan your life around it.

  • Should I remodel my kitchen myself or hire a pro?

Plumbing, wiring, and structure changes need a licensed crew. DIY works fine for small things like paint or hardware. Anything with walls, wires, or water lines is best left to us. We've fixed too many DIY jobs gone wrong to say otherwise.

  • How often should you remodel a kitchen?

Most kitchens need an update every 15 to 20 years. Homes built in the 1980s and 90s in Deerfield and Shadow Creek are hitting that mark now. Cabinets and counters wear out long before the house itself does. In our experience, the layout usually fails long before the cabinets do.

  • How soon should I fix plumbing issues in my kitchen?

Don't wait once you notice leaks or water damage under cabinets. Small leaks turn into mold and rot fast in our hot Texas summers. Call us as soon as you spot a problem. The longer it sits, the more it costs to fix.

  • What signs mean my kitchen needs a remodel?

Warped cabinets, cracked tile, and bad lighting are common signs. So is a layout that makes cooking harder than it should be. If you're avoiding your own kitchen, it's time. That's the clearest sign we see.

  • Do you handle HOA approval for kitchen remodels?

Kitchen remodels usually don't need HOA approval since it's indoor work. But if your project changes something outside, like a window, we handle that paperwork. This matters most in neighborhoods like Willow Bend and Canyon Creek. We've dealt with these boards before, so we know what they ask for.
